Hermès logo
Leather, lifestyle and luxury goods: when Thierry Hermès founded the company in 1837, it was clear Hermès aimed at the elite. Famous for its iconic carré scarfs and Kelly and Birkin bags –waiting list, anyone? – it's all fabulously snobby. Hermès prides itself in meticulous handcraftsmanship by artisans. "There is a part of our world that is playing on abundance, on glitz and glamour," CEO Patrick Thomas says. "And there is another part that is concentrated on refinement, and making beautiful objects. That's Hermès." Current designer men's wear is Véronique Nichanian, women's wear is in the hands of Christophe Lemaire.
