Italian luxury fashion house, producing everything from ready-to-wear to accessories, home décor and perfumes. Founded in 1968 by Gerolamo 'Gimmo' Etro (1940) it started out in exclusive fabrics, famous for paisley patterns. Its first fashion collection hit the catwalk in Milan in 1996. Creative directors are Gimmo's children Kean (men's wear), Veronica Etro (women's wear) and Jacopo (everything else). "I work by subtraction, gradually cleaning out my notebook and throwing away most of the notes until it is time to muster up the courage to close the circle," Veronica says. "What is left forms the heart of the collection."
