Emilio Pucci

Politician, patriarch, nobleman: Emilio Pucci (1914-1992), also known as the Marquess of Barsento, became famous among the jet-set for his self-designed skiwear in 1947. He rocked the Sixties as 'the Prince of Prints' with swirly geometric patterns in kaleidoscopic colours. In the seventies the label out-licenced itself and ten years later Pucci was so out of fashion it became avant-garde: the first punk bands wore Pucci bandannas to rebel against the establishment. In the Naughties the brand has made a stellar comeback under creative director Peter Dundas and image director Laudomia Pucci, Emilio's daughter.
