Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab (1964) started out in bridal wear what proved to be a great base for his later highly successful red carpet gowns: he dresses more royals and celebs than anyone. His fluid designs are made of rich fabrics like satin, silk and lace, and often adorned with embroidery, crystals and pearls. It may not always be cutting edge, but it's gorgeous and highly wearable. "The secret to beauty is simplicity with a certain touch of glamour," he says. "As long as you have a simple style you will be definitely on the right path." Since 2003 Saab shows ready-to-wear and haute couture in Paris.
