The Dolce & Gabbana lifestyle, in business since 1985, is sexy with a sense of humour, romantic and dramatic. Think haute hippie and underwear-as-outerwear, with lots of animal prints, lace, florals and pinstripes that would make Don Corleone proud. "It's not necessary to be too avant-garde, because you risk not being understood," says Dolce. Gabbana agrees: "What the fashion system says and what the fashion customer says are really two different things."
